Overview

Shared Sun Studio has been focused for the past 15 years on assisting organizations with complex challenges and opportunities: accessing their vision, clarity of purpose, strategic direction, and building their innovative and collaborative capacity.

The name ‘Shared Sun Studio’ emerged from its purpose—
to facilitate accessing the life-giving energy at the core of organizations and communities.

Sometimes, when organizations are looking for assistance, the story they tell is one of broken relationships, conflict, and lack of alignment on the future. It’s important to reframe those stories to focus on what the strengths are, the deep purpose and missions contained, what commitments are shared, and the resources already available... just as everyone can access the life-giving, generative energy of the sun.

Sallie Lee and Shared Sun Studio partners have worked with Fortune 100 companies as well as with start-up non-profits with fewer than five employees.  Projects may be as simple as half day training on organizational change or as complex as partnering with a company's multiple divisions and their clients to undergo a complete redesign of services and direction.

APPROACH
Organize the good

A fundamental operating principle at Shared Sun Studio is that each organization is unique and contains its own answers. We assist the surfacing and implementation of those answers in ways that leave the organization stronger and happier.

Building on years of experience practicing the deep principles of Appreciative Inquiry, along with other large system change methods, Integral theory, new developments in positive psychology and neuroscience and values-based assessment, Shared Sun Studio has evolved a fundamentally novel and effective way of approaching organizational and community health.

In important respects, human beings and organizations move in the direction of what they talk about. What organizations focus on, and the language they use, becomes their reality. So, what is the most powerful focus possible for organizational conversations? What kind of conversations are important to encourage?

Questions, in fact, create conversations.

Questions designed to focus on organizational health, strength, and wisdom create a move from confusion and despair to dialogue and co-creation, from problem to positive change.

Using an appreciative, strength-based approach, organizations have the opportunity to shift their focus and framing to more energizing approaches that create the agile, adaptive cultures of innovation and collaboration needed today.
